Youth Cantonese Speaking Competition
Empowering Youth & Fostering Community Inclusion
On 8 August 2026, Our Home Kong proudly supported the ISS-HK HOPE Centre Youth Cantonese Speaking Competition held in Wan Chai. As an NPO dedicated to local community building and social integration, Our Home Kong believes language is key to unlocking connection and sense of belonging. Through this meaningful event, non-Chinese youth were given a vibrant platform to practice, showcase, and celebrate their Cantonese language skills.

Our Home Kong Featured Speaker at BXAI Summer Program 2026: "Cantonese 101" Workshop
港·我家受邀擔任 2026 百賢亞洲研究院(BXAI)暑期計劃主講嘉賓:粵語文化工作坊
Our Home Kong delivered an engaging "Cantonese 101" interactive session at the Bai Xian Asia Institute (BXAI) Summer Program 2026 Opening Ceremony at CUHK, introducing international scholars to local language, food culture, and social inclusion.
On August 5, 2026, Our Home Kong (港·我家共融協會) represented the organization at the opening ceremony of the BXAI Summer Program 2026, co-hosted by the Bai Xian Asia Institute and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
As part of the program themed "Humanity in the Digital Age," Our Home Kong conducted an interactive 20-minute cultural workshop titled "Cantonese 101: A Survival Guide & Love Letter to Hong Kong."
Key Session Highlights:
Cultural & Linguistic Gateway: Introduced Asian scholars to the essentials of Cantonese tones, everyday etiquette, and local food culture (Cha Chaan Teng and Dim Sum survival guides).
Interactive Engagement: Guided participants through live icebreaker conversations, street-level navigation phrases, and unique Hong Kong expressions (Kongish).
Promoting Inclusion: Shared Our Home Kong’s core mission of fostering cross-cultural understanding, supporting ethnic minorities, and building an inclusive Hong Kong where everyone belongs.
This collaboration highlights Our Home Kong's ongoing commitment to community integration, youth empowerment, and cultural exchange in Hong Kong.

於 2026 年 8 月 5 日,「港·我家共融協會」(Our Home Kong)獲邀代表機構出席由百賢亞洲研究院(Bai Xian Asia Institute)與香港中文大學聯合主辦的 2026 BXAI 暑期計劃開幕典禮。
圍繞本屆大會主題 "Humanity in the Digital Age",港·我家精心設計並主持了一場長達 20 分鐘的文化互動工作坊——「Cantonese 101: A Survival Guide & Love Letter to Hong Kong」。

香港聖公會麥理浩夫人中心- 廣東話及繁體字工作坊 2026年第二期
HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre - Cantonese & Traditional Chinese Workshop Phase 2 (2026)
Our Home Kong 聯同香港聖公會麥理浩夫人中心推出「廣東話及繁體字工作坊」,共6堂課程。透過實用情境教學與小組練習,協助葵青區內地新來港人士掌握日常生活粵語及繁體字。
我們相信語言是融入社會的橋樑。活動旨在打破溝通隔閡,協助新來港居民建立自信與社區網絡,促進社區共融,攜手打造具歸屬感的和諧香港。
Our Home Kong is proud to partner with the HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre to launch the "Cantonese & Traditional Chinese Workshop," a 6-session interactive course tailored for new arrivals in Kwai Tsing district. Through practical scenarios and interactive group exercises, participants learn essential everyday Cantonese vocabulary and Traditional Chinese text.
Language is the key to local integration and empowerment. Navigating a new city can be challenging; by helping new arrivals overcome communication barriers, we aim to build their confidence, facilitate local connection, and support their transition into the community. This collaboration reflects Our Home Kong’s commitment to building an inclusive, cohesive society where everyone feels a sense of belonging. Through education and mutual support, we empower individuals to thrive and contribute to a welcoming Hong Kong.

「霓虹之下,你我同行」—— 港式潮語工藝共融協作坊
Under the Neon Lights: Connecting Communities Through Local Slang Craft
由港·我家共融協會主辦的「霓虹之下,你我同行」工作坊,巧妙結合香港地道霓虹燈藝與廣東話潮語文化,致力為多元族群搭建溝通橋樑,推動社區共融。
活動打破傳統語言學習的框架,以互動的手藝創作(LED 霓虹燈牌)為切入點,讓少數族裔參與者在輕鬆愉快的氣氛下接觸香港本土文化,提升對社區的歸屬感與共鳴。

Organized by Our Home Kong, this workshop blended iconic Hong Kong cultural elements—neon light artistry and local slang—to build bridges between diverse cultures and foster a strong sense of community belonging.
By taking traditional Hong Kong slang out of textbooks and transforming it into interactive neon art crafts, the event provided local ethnic minority participants with an engaging, creative entry point into Cantonese culture and local life.

跨文化語言互動 ——「遊戲權利您有SAY 2026」嘉年華
Cross-Cultural Language Exchange at "Children's Play Right 2026" by JCI
港·我家共融協會 非常榮幸受邀成為荃灣青年商會主辦之「遊戲權利您有SAY 2026」嘉年華的支持機構,並於現場設立具互動性的跨文化語言交流攤位。
協會特別派出了四位少數族裔義工,以趣味牌類遊戲與現場的本地小朋友進行「雙向語言學習」。少數族裔義工除了教導小朋友英語及他們的母語外,小朋友亦反過來成為「小老師」,指導義工學習廣東話。這種寓教於樂的模式打破了語言與文化藩籬,讓多元共融的種子在遊戲中生根發芽。

As a Supporting Organization for JCI Tsuen Wan's Children's Play Right 2026 Carnival, Our Home Kong was proud to facilitate an interactive, multi-language exchange booth designed to break down cultural barriers through play.
Our Home Kong mobilized four dedicated ethnic minority volunteers to host a dynamic card game booth. Through interactive card games, our volunteers taught local children conversational English and their native languages, while the local children guided our volunteers in practicing Cantonese. This bidirectional learning experience turned simple gameplay into a meaningful space for mutual respect, empowerment, and genuine connection.

Bidirectional Language Exchange: Created a two-way learning environment where both local children and ethnic minority volunteers acted as both teachers and learners.
Empowering Community Volunteers: Provided ethnic minority youth/volunteers a visible platform to share their heritage languages and contribute actively to local community events.
Inclusion Through Gamification: Utilized custom card games to make language acquisition fun, low-pressure, and engaging for young children.

Guarding the Greater Bay Area · Gathering Wisdom in Nansha — Hong Kong and Macao Youth Cultural & Scenic Study Camp
Thanks to Chong Tse Cheung Charity Foundation, the Mainland China Cultural tour was a huge success held from 9 May 2026 to 10 May 2026. Youth learned a lot of the Chinese development and culture and share it back to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Bone-Setting Cultural Tour
With the full support from Leung Tin Chiu Bone-Setting Clinic, we organized a cultural tour in the clinic in Cheung Sha Wan for ethnic minorities in Hong Kong on 25 April 2026. Ethnic Minority learned a lot of the Chinese medicine knowledge and culture!
